Deputy ambassador invites Sarawak business community to invest in Kazakhstan

KUCHING, Dec 24: The deputy ambassador to Malaysia from the Republic of Kazakhstan His Excellency Samat Zhanabay is inviting local businesses to invest in his country’s infrastructure, oil and gas as well as agricultural development.

Samat extended the invitation during a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at the latter’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia this morning.

He also introduced his country as one that has a population of 18 million and produces many agriculture products.


Samat also took the opportunity to express his country’s intention of looking for a candidate to be its honorary consul in Sarawak. Those interested may contact the Kazakhstan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for more details.

Meanwhile, Uggah explained to Samat that Sarawak was in the midst of transforming its agriculture sector.
