KUCHING, Oct 17: Residents in several areas of Kuching have been cautioned about a water supply disruption today from 9.30am until approximately 4.30pm.

According to Kuching Water Board (KWB), the interruption is due to urgent repair work on an 18-inch AC (asbestos cement) main pipe that has sustained a major leak near the junction of Durian Burung, off Jalan Tun Jugah.

The areas affected by the water interruption include Jalan Tun Jugah, Jalan Bintangor, Jalan BDC, Jalan Stutong, Jalan Durian Burung, Jalan Luis, Jalan Kempas, Jalan Seladah, Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho, Jalan Kumpang, Jalan Song, Jalan Tabuan Dayak, Jalan Stampin, Jalan Stampin Timur, Jalan Stampin Barat, Jalan Kenny Hill, Jalan Jelutong, Gala City, and Kuarters Gunasama, along with other surrounding areas.

These locations will either experience low water pressure or a complete halt in water supply during the maintenance window.

To mitigate the disruption, KWB has mobilised water tankers to ensure affected residents have access to water while the repair works are being carried out.

For further inquiries, residents are advised to contact the KWB Call Centre at 082-222333 or send a WhatsApp message to 019-8866650. Kelvin Jaraw, the person-in-charge of the situation, can also be reached at 019-829 2103.
