KUCHING, April 23: Ibraco Bhd (Ibraco) began 2025 by strengthening its commitment to children with cancer, contributing nearly RM100,000 in the first quarter alone to the Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society (SCCS) — a continuation of a partnership founded on compassion and care for the vulnerable.
According to its press release, the contribution includes RM80,000 in support of SCCS’ GoBald campaign this year—a powerful symbol of solidarity with young cancer patients—and sponsorships for the Society’s Chinese New Year celebration this year, in cash, gifts and essentials, bringing festive joy to children and their families.

This funding will also directly support SCCS’ critical outreach programmes, including hospital transportation for rural families, care packs for newly diagnosed children, weekly home visits, bereavement support, and the Wishing Star initiative, which helps fulfil the dreams of children who no longer have treatment options.
Ibraco also invites the public to join in their effort to support SCCS by joining the GoBald 2025 campaign. This year’s events will be held in Miri on June 15 at Imperial Mall and in Kuching on June 22 at Aeon Mall Kuching Central. Participation options include shaving one’s head in solidarity or making a donation, with all support going toward bringing hope and strength to children fighting cancer and their families.
Ibraco Group Managing Director Datuk Chew Chiaw Han commented, “It is our privilege to once again stand alongside SCCS in their mission to bring comfort and strength to families facing some of life’s toughest battles. Every child deserves to feel supported, loved, and never alone.”
He shared that Ibraco’s partnership with SCCS has been a deeply meaningful one, spanning over ten years.
“This journey with SCCS has been about more than just financial support. It’s about standing in solidarity with children and families facing the unimaginable,” he said.
“We’ve had the privilege of supporting through sponsorships, festive celebrations, awareness efforts, and joining hands in their fundraising activities.”
Established since 2001, SCCS is a non-profit organisation devoted to supporting children in Sarawak who are battling cancer, of which the emotional, physical, and financial toll on these young patients and their families is immense.
Guided by its values of Responsibility and Accountability, Ibraco is committed to supporting SCCS and easing the burden on vulnerable children and families affected by cancer, as part of its ongoing commitment and effort to build healthier, more compassionate communities.
“As a property developer, we believe our true purpose lies not just in building homes, but in nurturing hope and compassion within the communities we serve,” Chew added.
“We are humbled to know that our efforts have brought some light to numerous families over the years. Walking alongside SCCS has been an honour—and we remain committed to this journey of care, courage, and kindness,” he added.
In addition to its partnership with SCCS, Ibraco has also worked with organisations such as Hope Place Kuching and supported health-focused events and wellness campaigns.
The company continues to design developments with the community in mind, including neighbourhood parks as well as jogging treks, leisure spaces, and a neighbourhood club at its townships.
Ibraco remains committed to its corporate responsibility mission by supporting initiatives that promote community health, resilience, and this enduring commitment reflects the company’s belief that businesses have a vital role in uplifting the communities they serve. Through long-standing partnerships, public wellness efforts, and direct community engagements, Ibraco continues to integrate compassion into its operations—building not only homes, but also a more caring and connected society.
Ibraco’s corporate social responsibility efforts also align with the company’s ESG roadmap, which focuses on long-term community impact. – DayakDaily
