KUCHING, Oct 22: Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas welcomes the investment of Southeast Asia’s largest integrated car e-commerce platform, Carsom, in Sarawak.

He said the four new Carsome inspection centres in Kuching, Sibu, Miri, and Bintulu have opened up more job opportunities for Sarawakians.

Other than bringing in new technologies into Sarawak, he said, new investments such as Carsome would also expose Sarawak to a worldwide network in the automotive industry.

“This is also a chance for Sarawakians to get skills training. They (Carsome) have a skills training centre (academy) in Kuala Lumpur.

“I was telling them that they should bring it here to build up our (Sarawakians’) skills in automotive,” said Uggah while officiating at the Carsome Kuching inspection centre launching ceremony at Jalan Simpang Tiga here today.

Representing Carsome at the event were its co-founder and Carsome Academy chief executive officer Teoh Jiun Ee, Carsome chief property officer Danny Chin, and Carsome Wholesale Operations general manager Chris Ang.

Carsome inspection centres aim to offer customers a differentiated and hassle-free car-selling experience through fast payment and worry-free transactions.

Guided by a stringent inspection procedure, every Carsome inspection centre will have a skilled professional inspector to conduct a comprehensive inspection of the car to ensure its quality is accounted for to offer the best price in the market. — DayakDaily
