KUCHING, Aug 2: Two individuals, including a woman who were believed to be involved in gambling activities, were arrested at Bau on Saturday.
Bau District police chief DSP Poge Nyaon said in the first arrest at 6.40 pm, a team from the Crime Investigation Department caught a 34-year-old male suspect during a raid on a shop located at Tondong Target Point, Jalan Batu Kawa, Bau.
He said, in a press release today, that the suspect was believed to be doing reload or top up for an illegal gambling platform.
The suspect and the items which were used were later confiscated and brought to the police station.
“The second arrest was at 7.30 pm when the police raided a coffee shop at Jalan Seringgok area, Bau.
“A 28-year-old female suspect was believed to be doing reload and top up for an illegal gambling platform as well,” he added.
He said the two suspects would be investigated under Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953. -DayakDaily
