KOTA SAMARAHAN, Sept 30: Police arrested an 18-year-old local man suspected of involvement in cable theft after officers discovered cables being burned near a motorcycle in Kampung Tanjung Bundong early Tuesday (Sept 29) morning.
According to a report from the Kota Samarahan District Police Headquarters (IPD), the suspect was detained by personnel from the Mobile Patrol Vehicle (MPV) unit during a crime prevention patrol at about 3am.
Police said the MPV team noticed cables being burned in a bushy area beside a motorcycle, prompting officers to conduct an inspection and take further action.
The operation led to the arrest of the suspect and the seizure of 20 rolls of wire cable, a pair of wire cutters and a Honda Wave motorcycle believed to be linked to the case.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft.
Kota Samarahan police said they will continue to intensify patrols and monitoring efforts to curb criminal activities and ensure public safety throughout the district. – DayakDaily
