KUCHING, April 7: GPS will continue to form a strong government that resists foreign invasion in any form and make Sarawak rich and stronger after the upcoming 12th State Election (PRN12), asserts SUPP Youth Central.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth Central in a statement today said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has always put Sarawak’s interests first.

“SUPP Youth firmly believes that GPS, which has always been people-centric and placing Sarawak First above any other things, will continue to regain the political mandate from the people of Sarawak in the PRN12 and form a strong Sarawak government to resist foreign invasion in any form and to make Sarawak rich and stronger.

“SUPP Youth Central is ready and all set for election under the leadership of Chief Minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) and Party President (Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian) to go all out to accomplish the mission of “Sarawak First”.

“The stance of SUPP Youth is that the notion that Sarawak government should come from local parties and not Malayan parties should remain resolute and be unchanged by the people of Sarawak,” it said.

In the meantime, SUPP Youth Central said it supported the partnership between the federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the Sarawak government under Abang Johari working together towards political stability, economic recovery, restoration of Sarawak’s rights, and in the fight against Covid-19 in the state.

It asserted that the coordination shown by the two governments of different levels should be extended to PRN12 and the 15th General Election (GE15).

For PRN12 and GE15, SUPP Youth Central reiterated that the four component parties of GPS namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), SUPP, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) will work closely and form strong ties to fight for all 82 state seats and 31 parliamentary seats in Sarawak.

Among them, SUPP candidates will contest 20 state seats and seven parliamentary seats, as reiterated by Dr Sim.

At the same time, SUPP Youth Central concurred with Dr Sim’s stand in supporting Abang Johari as chief minister to lead the people of Sarawak through the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, reviving the economy and implementing ‘Sarawak First’ policies. — DayakDaily
