Strictly one person limit per car — Sarawak police chief

Datuk Aidi Ismail

KUCHING, April 15: It will be strict implementation of ‘one car, one person’ with no more excuses, says Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail.

He emphasised the police will not entertain anymore excuses in the third phase of Movement Control Order (MCO).

“We started to enforce it earlier but today we don’t accept anymore excuses such as ‘I can’t drive’. Car pooling is also not allowed for those going to work.

“No more excuses. Whatever you need to go out to do such as shopping or going for work, there can only be one person in one car. We will be very strict now,” Aidi told DayakDaily.

He warned that if people preferred to act foolish and stubborn, the MCO may be extended again.

“The majority of people are in compliance with MCO. Only a few are very stubborn and difficult to deal with,” said Aidi.

He underlined now is a critical time where the whole nation is in crisis which is not easy to weather.

“At this time, everyone must take care of everyone. We must think for the others. The public must do their part to weather this unprecedented crisis,” said Aidi. — DayakDaily
