She highlighted that MATRADE Paris has been actively supporting Malaysian businesses, including Sarawakian enterprises, in expanding their presence in the region.

Among these are Sarawak’s unique handicraft products, which have gained recognition as fashionable lifestyle items in Europe.

In a key highlight of the visit, Awang Tengah witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sarawak-based Wireco Sdn Bhd and France’s Blumorpho.

The agreement sets the stage for strategic and financial partnerships to scale up the adoption of WASTENOT’s food waste management technology across major global markets.

The collaboration aims to strengthen financial collaboration models and foster engagement with both industrial and institutional stakeholders.

It will also explore avenues for French, European and international support mechanisms dedicated to sustainable technology innovation, facilitating the transition to a circular economy and enhancing access to carbon credit markets.
