KUCHING, Sept 10: A Chinese national, who was reported missing at Bako National Park yesterday, has safely returned to his chalet this morning.

Shin Chi Ching, 70, had gone on a hike with two friends at Sarawak’s oldest national park yesterday morning.

However, his friends reported him missing after they lost track of him at about 2pm when they were hiking the Telok Asam trail.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre (PGO) said upon reaching the base point, his friends immediately informed park rangers of the incident, prompting a search and rescue (SAR) operation at 6.30pm.

While the SAR operation was going on this morning, Shin somehow found his way back and returned to his chalet at 7.30am. — DayakDaily
