KUCHING, March 31: Members of the public who are unable to or are facing difficulties in registering for the Covid-19 Immunisation Programme can go down to the Sg Maong market at 3rd Mile here this Saturday (April 3) to get registered.

Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) will be holding a programme to assist the State Health Department with registering individuals.

A similar programme will also be organised at the Kota Padawan market, 10th Mile here on April 10.

MPP chairman Lo Khere Chiang shared that the council will be going to the ground including all the markets under its jurisdiction to help people register for the immunisation programme.

“We had done one (programme) last Saturday (March 27) at 7th Mile market and this coming Saturday (April 3).

“So we encourage those who are unable to register for the immunisation to come down and we will help them,” he told a press conference after chairing a full MPP council meeting via Zoom yesterday.

He also urged more Sarawakians to register themselves for Covid-19 immunisation using the MySejahtera app as the steps are easy to follow.

Meanwhile, Lo wants villagers to remain vigilant and continue adopting the new normal in their daily activities as several Covid-19 clusters have emerged in villages in Kuching.

As such, MPP has initiated a ‘Let’s Curb Covid-19′ programme to distribute posters to increase public awareness as well as to remind village folks to practise the new normal in areas under its jurisdiction.

Lo and Deputy Chairman Dato’ Ahmad Ibrahim yesterday morning handed over the posters to MPP councillors to be distributed to villages and village folks.

“This is a continuous awareness programme targeted at village folks given that Covid-19 is still rampant with a few clusters having emerged in villages in Kuching Zone.

“The reminders are the same like wear a mask when outside, practise physical distancing of at least one metre, avoid crowded areas and gathering in groups, and frequently wash hands with soap or use hand sanitisers,” he added. — DayakDaily
