“I have given an allocation to develop this road under the Public Works Department (JKR) and the journey from Dalat to Sibu is expected to take only one hour after it is completed,” he said after officiating at the earth-breaking ceremony for Dalat Boutique Hotel and the opening ceremony of Dalat Welfare Complex (KKD) in Mukah here on Saturday (May 25)

He said construction of the new road is estimated to be completed in approximately three years.

He also said that while the project is being implemented, the Sarawak government will also improve the water supply infrastructure in Kuala Rajang.

“We have increased the water supply in Kuala Rajang from Sibu, and I have also approved the allocation to improve water distribution back to Sibu.

“With the construction of the new road, the pipeline will become a supporting pipe to supply water to Mukah,” he added. — DayakDaily
