Police issue 30 compounds in last 24 hours for SOP violations

KUCHING, July 10: Eleven individuals who were compounded by the police for gathering and not practicing physical distancing, were among the 30 who were issued with compounds by the police for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the State.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, eight other individuals were also compounded for not scanning their MySejahtera app before entering a premise.

Other SOPs violations included loitering in public places after 12am without reasonable excuses (6), and failure to wear a face mask (3).


This includes one compound each for failure to abide by the time limit set for the economic sector, as well as carrying passengers exceeding the limit in one vehicle, bringing the total number of compounds issued by the police to 9,050.

Meanwhile, SDMC said the Ministry of Local Government and Housing Sarawak had issued a total of five compound notices through its local government authority in Bintulu, Serian and Sibu, which brings the total number of compound notices issued by PBT to 1,268 compounds as of today.

Among the offenses compounded by the PBT are failure to wear a face mask (3), operating beyond the time limit set (1), and failure to update or incomplete registration book (1). — DayakDaily
