KUCHING, May 18: Consumers are urged to conserve and use water responsibly amidst ongoing dry weather which saw the region experiencing low rainfall that has resulted in the reduction in water levels within the catchment areas.

Laku Management Sdn Bhd issued this critical call to consumers to conserve water in response to the prevailing dry weather which is expected to continue until September and more so, when the Gawai Dayak Festival is fast approaching.

“This has caused a significant drop in the raw water intake and dam reservoir water level that cater to consumers’ need.
“As we approach the festive season of Gawai Dayak, we strongly encourage consumers to practise water conservation and use water responsibly,” Laku said in a statement today.

To achieve this, consumers are urged minimise outdoor watering activities, promptly address any leaking pipes or faucets, and report any external pipe leakages to Laku for immediate resolution.

The collective effort of consumers in conserving water is of paramount importance during this period of low rainfall and dry season in mitigating the impact of any water shortage.

Laku Management expressed its gratitude for the public’s cooperation and proactive efforts in conserving water during this challenging period.

“Together, we can ensure the sustainable use of our invaluable water resources,” it added.
