SIBU, July 9: Foochow Park here will have closed-circuit television (CCTV) units installed for its safety next year.
This initiative was proposed by the Sibu Foochow Association to Deputy Minister for Public Health, Housing, and Local Government Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee.
Tiang, who is also Pelawan assemblyman, received the proposal by the association positively.
“I have promised to install CCTVs in 2025, and the association will be responsible for maintaining the system,” he said during a minor rural project (MRP) grant handover at the association premises yesterday.
Tiang had allocated RM10,000 to the association in 2024 and he said that he would allocate another RM50,000 for the association next year.
Meanwhile, regarding lorry and other transport parking issues, Tiang said that he had consulted the Director of Land and Survey to acquire 100 acres of land for the planning and settlement of the heavy vehicles.
“As the Deputy Minister of Sarawak, I aim to champion the development of Sibu, regardless of political party or race.
“I urge the residents of Sibu to provide their input for the advancement of Sibu,” he added. — DayakDaily
