KUCHING, May 18: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) calls on Pakatan Harapan (PH) to screen Sarawakian parliamentarians before appointing them as federal ministers in view that there is a police case filed against an elected Member of Parliament concerning Native Customary Rights (NCR) land.

According to a statement today by its information chief Bobby William, the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) MP is also an assemblyman.

Bobby said screening should be conducted to ensure that all federal ministers are clean and free from land cases or corruption scandals.

“This MP should declare himself and clear his name before becoming a federal minister.

“So his appointment to the cabinet must be postponed until his case is over or until he clears his own name to ensure clean, fair and transparent practices in the new administration.

“It should not be done in the old way, the Barisan Nasional’s way, isn’t it?” said Bobby.

Meanwhile, Bobby also urged the PH government to open investigations into Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Sarawak Barisan Nasional (BN).

In addition, Bobby also urged the government of the Philippines to investigate the Sarawak Governor and Sarawak BN who are alleged to be involved in land grabs and corruption scandals over there. — DayakDaily
