SIBU, April 24: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) is in a state of turmoil following the sudden resignations of its president Bobby William and secretary-general Kipli Ayom.

This comes after they had sacked eight PBDS Supreme Council members. The eight are Sai Malaka (deputy president), Emelia Ambrose (vice president), Sawing Kedit (vice president), Robert Saweng (youth chief), Susan George (women chief), Entusa Iman (member), Tonny Sepawi (member) and Ismail Lumut (member).

Sai told reporters today that they questioned their sackings as they were not given any show-cause letter.

“We were only informed by Bobby through a letter on April 18 that we have been sacked by the party. This was followed by another letter by Kipli two days later,” he said.

Sai added that they were told that their sacking was made at the party’s Supreme Council meeting on March 26 at its Sibujaya office.

“When we asked for the minutes of the meeting, they failed to show it to us. It later came to our shock when Bobby and Kipli told us that they had resigned from the party,” he said.

He said the appointment of the 18 Supreme Council members appointed by the president at the PBDS triennial delegates conference should also be rendered null and void following Bobby’s resignation as president.

On the resignations of Bobby and Kipli, Sai said it was against the integrity and ethic of the party as members had given them their full faith to run the party.

Sai added that they want the Registrar of Societies (ROS) to conduct an investigation on the party following the crisis which is happening in the party. — DayakDaily
