Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang temporarily closed after light aircraft makes emergency landing

KUCHING, April 26: Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang was temporarily closed today following a light aircraft emergency landing.

According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS), the light aircraft made the emergency landing two minutes after taking off.


Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief executive officer Datuk Captain Norazman Mahmud said that two pilots, who were in a Diamond DA-42 light aircraft with registration number N566CB operated by Techstrait Ltd, were safe.

“The plane took off at 8.26am from LTSAAS, and the Subang Air Traffic Control Tower received an emergency call shortly after the plane took off. The plane then made an emergency landing at 8.28am,” he said in a statement.

He added that further investigation will be carried out by the Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) under the Ministry of Transport (MOT) in accordance with Part XXVI of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2016. — DayakDaily
