KUCHING, April 3: A new waterfall has been discovered deep in the Bung Bratak jungles.
Bung Bratak Heritage Association (BBHA) chairman Datuk Peter Minos believed the waterfall would be another big hit with local and foreign tourists.
He said the Bung Bratak Heritage Centre’s staff found the cascading waterfall after a long and difficult search in the jungles.
“(The waterfall is) surrounded by jungles and virgin forests. Therefore, this Bung Bratak Waterfall is uniquely located,” he said in a statement today.
Peter also thanked the Forest Department Sarawak for building a concrete path to the newly-discovered waterfall and the Bung Bratak summit.
With the downward trend of Covid-19 caseloads in Sarawak, he noted an increasing number of visitors to Bung Bratak.
He said some would go on day trips while others prefer camping or staying overnight at the longhouses.
“As often commented by visitors, Bung Bratak has everything: the best mountain scenery, fresh air and spring water, jungle trekking, hill climbing, and now the waterfall.
“With the virgin jungles, flora, and fauna, Bung Bratak is the best place for jungle lovers and those who are adventurous,” he said. — DayakDaily
