KUCHING, Dec 6: The constituency of N66 Murum which was created in 2015 will see its second four-cornered fight in the 12th Sarawak State Election (PRN12).

Murum incumbent Kennedy Chukpai Ugon will be standing again under the Gabungan Parti Sarawak-Parti Rakyat Sarawak (GPS-PRS) flag after his first win in 2016.

This time, however, he will be facing Anie Amat of Parti Keadilan Sarawak (PKR), Kenneth Adan Silek of Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB), and Stanley Ajang Batok of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

When asked whether he was confident to defend Murum, he answered with certainty: “Yes, very confident.”

“We (GPS) are confident because we have been delivering (on our promises). The rakyat knows what we’ve done and they are happy.

“We hope in the next coming five years, we will be able to do more and better serve the communities,” he told DayakDaily when contacted over the phone.

In the 2016 State Election, Chukpai won the seat with 3,265 votes against Abun Sui Anyit (PKR), Matthew Silek (Democratic Action Party), and Stanley Ajang Batok (independent). — Dayakdaily
