SARIKEI, Sept 1: A 78-year-old man with dementia and hearing and vision impairments who went missing after he went to an oil palm farm along Jalan Sungai Tapang, Jalan Bayong here on Sunday (Aug 30) was found to be safe on the third day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim, Chali Mat, was found by a villager who informed rescuers at 6.58am today.
He was reportedly found about 5km from his home and later handed over to his family.
Following the discovery, the operation was concluded at 8.30am today.
Based on the incident timeline, the victim reportedly left his home at about 8.15am on Aug 29.
When he failed to return home, his family members searched for him but could not find him, prompting them to lodge a police report. — DayakDaily
