BETONG, Aug 15: A 79-year-old woman who went missing after leaving her longhouse to go to her farm on Thursday (Aug 13) was found safe on the second day of the search and rescue (SAR) operation today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the victim, Nawie Jabing, was found at 2.20pm by villagers, approximately 2.5 km from where she went missing.
The victim reportedly left her longhouse, Rumah Empaling Jelang Spak, at 6.30am on Aug 13 to go to her farm and did not return.
The first day of the SAR operation on Aug 14 covered a radius of up to 500 metres in the victim’s farm area, where they found her machete at 12.10pm, followed by the discovery of her hat on a hillside at 9.10am today.
The operation ended at 4pm. — DayakDaily
