Minos: Criticism against restricted movement order unwarranted

Dato Peter Minos

KUCHING, March 18: There should be no place for criticism against the government for implementing the Movement Control Order (CMO) in Malaysia, opines political observer Datuk Peter Minos.

As this is Malaysia’s trying and difficult moment, members of the public must realise the intention of the MCO from March 18 to 31 is only to curb the coronavirus from spreading further.

Supporting the move, the former Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy info chief opined this is the government’s only intention and no other, thus every Malaysian must appreciate the move, and at the same time make the effort to assist and sacrifice for two weeks for the common good.

“If each and every Malaysian faithfully follows and obeys the order, Malaysia will most probably overcome the Covid-19 menace soon. Otherwise, it will go on and the people will pay very dearly for it. No doubt it is quite tough to follow the MCO but it has to be enforced for the sake and well being of our nation,” he emphasised in a statement.

Saluting the federal and state governments for the move, Minos expressed belief it is timely and wise because it takes guts to implement the order.

“We also hope that the deaths of two Malaysians from Covid-19 will be the last. We also pray that those who’re positively infected will be treated and fully recover soon. It is very frightening to hear (about the) the deaths, pain and sufferings, not just in China and Italy but also in Malaysia.”

He also hoped that vaccines against Covid-19 could be found soon as soon as possible. — DayakDaily
