KUCHING, Sept 5: A fire broke out at a chicken feed storage facility located at Kampung Kekat Chicken Farm, Batu 16, Siburan, late last night (Sept 4).
According to a statement from Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak, no injuries were reported, and no victims were involved in the incident.
The emergency call was received at 10.35pm, and firefighters from the Siburan Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Siburan) were despatched to the scene, which was approximately 14 kilometres away.
The storage structure, measuring 20×20 feet, was completely engulfed in flames by the time the team arrived.
The fire was extinguished using two water hoses from the fire engine’s tank and brought under control by 11.10pm. The operation concluded by 11.20pm.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the department. — DayakDaily
