KUCHING, March 13: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak Women’s chief, Victoria Musa, has revealed that 80 per cent of the Women’s Wing in Sarawak will back Fadhlina Sidek to retain her position as PKR Women’s chief in the upcoming party election.
Victoria said the majority of the women’s branches in Sarawak are fully behind Fadhlina, whom she described as a functional and effective leader who has significantly strengthened the Women’s Wing in Sarawak.

“As of now, many from the Women’s Wing will be voting tomorrow, and the majority of them are supporting Fadhlina Sidek.
“This is because Fadhlina is a very functional leader who always refers to us in Sarawak and provides good cooperation and support,” she said when met after attending an iftar programme with PKR Women’s branches at Serapi Hotel here today.
Victoria further shared that under Fadhlina’s leadership, the Women’s Wing in Sarawak has grown from only five branches in 2022 to 26 branches today.
“Currently, only four branches ‘collapsed’, but the rest are fully established with a complete lineup of committee members,” she added.
When asked which four branches are collapsing, Victoria smiled and replied, “That’s a secret.”
Fadhlina is set to defend her position as the party’s Women chief in the upcoming PKR party election against Ampang member of parliament Rodziah Ismail.

Speaking to reporters at the same event, she mentioned that her focus remains on offering the best service to the party and empowering the Women’s Wing.
“As I mentioned earlier, this election is not about competing against each other. It is about what we can offer to the party and who can serve the party with the best dedication.
“I am offering hard work, dedication, and commitment to uphold the party’s aspirations, while ensuring that the Women’s wing continues to be the strongest voice within PKR, especially in fighting for women’s issues and the party’s struggle,” she elaborated.
On January 26, PKR announced that the party election for the Central Leadership Council (MPP), Central Women’s Leadership Council (MPWP), and Central Youth Leadership Council (MPAMKP) will be held on May 24.
Meanwhile, the election for positions at the branch level, including the Women and Youth wings will take place from April 11 to 20. – DayakDaily
