KUCHING, Sept 5: Residents and business operators in Sekama are being urged to step up vigilance against fire hazards following a fire safety awareness initiative by the Sekama Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK).
According to a statement, the initiative involved distributing fire safety posters to residents and local businesses, providing practical reminders on fire prevention and potential hazards in their daily surroundings.
Through the outreach, the committee is encouraging residents and business operators to pay closer attention to fire safety within their homes and premises, particularly by identifying and addressing potential sources of fire.
The effort also reflects the committee’s focus on strengthening community participation in maintaining a safe neighbourhood, with fire prevention requiring awareness and precaution at the household and business level.
JKKK Sekama said it would continue supporting community initiatives that promote safety and residents’ well-being. — DayakDaily
