Heart2Heart crowned dancing champion at Kuching’s Got Talent 2023

KUCHING, Aug 14: Boy group Heart2Heart was crowned the champion for the Dancing category at Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 finale held at MBKS Theatre last night (Aug 13).

The trio comprised Rudi Bagan, 24; San Kheng, 27; and Li Jin, 23, bringing home RM3,000 cash prize and a trophy.

In second place was Dion Das Louis, who won RM2,000 cash, while girl group 5 of Us secured third place with RM1,000. Both winners also received a trophy each.

For the Other Talent category, Chung Hua Middle School No.4 (Kuching) bagged RM2,000 cash as the winner, followed by Bung Rentak in second place—RM1,500, and Bong Foo Yong in third place—RM800.

In the Singing category for ages 13 and above, Brian Chong won first place with an RM3,000 cash prize, followed by Sabarina Mohd Othman (RM2,000) and Wong Li Yii (RM1,000) in second and third places, respectively.

For the Singing category for age 12 and below, the first place went to Kingsley Bong Zhen Feng, who brought home RM1,500, followed by Natalie Chai Jia Wei in second (RM1,000) and Sheryl in third (RM500).

Other finalists also received consolation prizes of RM100 cash and a trophy each.

The finale of Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 was graced by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

During his speech, he informed the audience that the construction of a centre of performing arts in Sarawak will begin soon, where the old Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) building will be renovated and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

“I think performing arts, creativity, and art are here to stay, and we will have a place for them to showcase their talent or skills in the future.

“We will be able to have our own centre of performing arts in the future, which I hope would be able to showcase to the public every two weeks.

“Once the building is ready, Kuching will be a vibrant place for tourists that when they come here, either domestic or foreigners coming to Sarawak, apart from seeing our beautiful countryside and the tourism products, they will also be able to be entertained by the local artists that we are producing,” he said at the event.

There were over 280 participants, aged ranging between 6 to 64, who came for the audition of Kuching’s Got Talent.

Amongst those present were Abdul Karim’s wife, Datin Sri Zuraini Abdul Jabbar; Deputy Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Snowdan Lawan; Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng; Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) permanent secretary Datu Sherrina Hussaini; Kuching Festival 2023 organising chairman Cr Mok Chuang Ping; and Kuching’s Got Talent 2023 organising chairman Cr Issac Lee Mong Yann. — DayakDaily
