KUCHING, Nov 9: “One thing for sure, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as a Sarawak-based party will not sell Sarawak off on polling night,” says Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

Coming Nov 19 polling night, he said, not one coalition party in Malaysia would have the majority to form the government.

Should Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) win all 31 seats in Sarawak, political parties in Peninsular Malaysia would have to rely on GPS to achieve a majority out of the total 222 seats.

“On the night of polling, no one will know who is in the Opposition. No one (coalition party) has enough (the majority) MPs to form the government.

“And for Sarawak, the time has come after 60 years to come together as one united voice so that we win all 31 seats and everyone will have to negotiate with us to form the government,” said Dr Sim.

With regards to Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) offer of the deputy prime minister post to Sarawak, Dr Sim asserted that the decision will only be made on the night of Nov 19.

He said GPS would be supporting whichever coalition that offers the best conditions for Sarawak.
