SERIAN, Nov 9: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for P198 Puncak Borneo Datuk Willie Mongin today openly apologised to lobbyists for the seat.

He mentioned Wejok Tomik, Wilson Ahon and Neuclos Jub, who are Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) members from Serembu, Mambong and Tarat, respectively.

“If (my candidacy) for Puncak Borneo has hurt the three of you, I sincerely apologise.

“Let us work together and set our differences aside for the sake of Puncak Borneo,” Willie said at the launching of Puncak Borneo GPS Election Machinery at Kampung Sinjok community hall, here.

Willie also apologised for his past mistakes when he was under Pakatan Harapan (PH), adding that he had decided to join GPS to bring more development to the area.

Present were Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Datuk Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is Tarat assemblyman, Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, who is Mambong assemblyman as well as Serembu assemblyman Miro Simuh.

The three constituencies are under Puncak Borneo parliamentary seat.

Sagah said any differences should be put aside to face this election.

“Here we are not looking at the individual, but the party as a whole under GPS to fight for our rights and bring prosperity and development,” Sagah said.

He appealed to the lobbyists who were not chosen for the seat to close ranks and work to ensure victory for GPS.

He said PBB being a disciplined party would always abide with the decision made by the top leadership. — DayakDaily
