The committee in a press statement today disclosed two cases were reported in Miri Hospital and one each in Sibu and the Sarawak General Hospital.

“With them, Sarawak has a cumulative total of 80 PUI cases as from 10 January until today (59 cases are Malaysians, 18 Chinese, and one each for Thai, Indonesian and Canadian nationals).

“However 64 had tested negative and 16 are still awaiting results from laboratory testing,” the statement revealed.

The statement also noted that the 16 pending cases involved 13 Malaysians (seven at Sarawak General Hospital, five in Miri and one in Sibu) and three Chinese nationals (two at Sarawak General Hospital and one in Miri Hospital).

As of 12 noon yesterday, a total of 5,095 arrivals at various airports, land and sea entry points had been screened by the Health Department.

“The Health Department again would like to advise those who had fallen sick (fever, coughing and breathing difficulty) within 14 days after returning from China to seek immediate medical treatment, where they must inform the doctors treating them of their travel history.
