BAU, Sept 6: A 34-year-old woman died after experiencing breathing difficulties before collapsing and losing consciousness at her home in Kampung Bidi, Jalan Krokong here on Saturday (Sept 5).
In a statement issued today, Bau District Police Chief Supt Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the incident occurred at about 9pm when the victim reportedly experienced breathing difficulties before collapsing in the kitchen of her home.
He said she was later taken by her family members to the Emergency Unit at Bau Hospital for treatment but was pronounced dead by a medical officer at 10.09pm.
“Initial police examination of the body found no suspicious injuries or elements of criminal activity,” he said.
He also noted that based on information obtained from the victim’s family, she had a history of health problems and frequently attended follow-up treatment at Bau Hospital.
He added that the woman’s family did not suspect any criminal element in connection with her death, and that the body will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
“The case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report, and further investigations are ongoing,” he said.
Police have also advised the public against making any speculation that could cause confusion and urged them to allow the authorities to conduct their investigation. — DayakDaily
