SIBU, Dec 28: A fertiliser warehouse at Jalan Ding Lik Kong sustained serious damage in a fire earlier today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said a team of firefighters from the Sungai Merah and Sibu Central stations responded to the emergency at 7.27am.
Upon reaching the scene, the firefighters promptly took action to quell the flames, utilising water from both the fire hydrant and water tankers.
Preliminary estimates indicated that approximately 65 per cent of the warehouse sustained damage from the intense blaze.
Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or fatalities.
After ensuring the safety of the site and confirming the absence of any potential sources of ignition, the operation concluded at approximately 4.22pm. — DayakDaily
