Dalat, Beluru improve status to orange zones as 17 districts remain as red zones in Sarawak


KUCHING, Aug 6: Dalat and Beluru districts are no longer red zones, and have been classified as orange zones after recording zero new cases in the past two weeks.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a statement today, both districts only recorded a total of 23 and 33 cases respectively, in the past 14 days.

Apart from that, the committee said, Telang Usan and Kanowit districts reverted its status from yellow to orange zones after both district recorded 23 and 25 local infection cases in the last two-weeks, and Kapit have returned to the yellow zone status from the orange status after only reporting a total of 19 local infection cases in the last 14 days.


As of today, a total of 17 districts; namely Sri Aman, Kabong, Asajaya, Subis, Mukah, Simunjan, Tatau, Lundu, Saratok, Bau, Meradong, Samarahan, Serian, Kuching, Bintulu, Miri, and Sibu, remain classified as red zones.

With the addition of Telang Usan, and Kanowit today, there are a total of nine districts classified as orange zones, including Dalat, Beluru, Selangau, Sarikei, Tebedu, Pakan and Betong.

Nine other district namely Kapit, Sebauh, Julau, Lawas, Daro, Tanjung Manis, Song, Pusa and Belaga are yellow zones, while Bukit Mabong, Lubok Antu, Matu, Marudi, and Limbang are green zones. — DayakDaily
