29 individuals, 3 drug pushers arrested during ‘Ops Rempuh Pusher’

KUCHING, Aug 6: Three drug pushers, together with 26 others individuals were arrested by the police during the first week of ‘Ops Rempuh Pusher’ which was conducted throughout the city.

According to Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah in a statement today, for the first week of the operation held from Aug 1 until Aug 5, a total of eight raids were conducted in Jalan Stutong, Kampung Siol Kandis, Kampung Lintang, Lorong Stampin and Jalan Mancis.

“During the operation, a total of 29 individuals (27 men and two women) aged between 18 to 47-years-old were arrested, including three drug pushers.


“Police also seized syabu weighing 37.59 grammes worth RM3,579, ketamine weighing 6.1 grammes (RM915), ecstasy powder weighing 400.6 grammes (RM20,030), 49 ecstasy pills (RM735), and 22 eramin 5 pills (RM330), with a total street worth of RM25,760,” he said.

Ashmon revealed that the individuals were arrested under Section 39B, Section 39A(2), Section 39A(1), Section 12 (2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Section 6 of the Corrosive and Explosive Substances and Offensive Weapons Act 1958.

“Among other items confiscated during the raid were a Japanese sword, karambit blade, a sedan vehicle and motorbike,” he added.

Ashmon also encourages the public to channel any information involving drug activities in their areas to the police for the safety of the community. — DayakDaily
