Next round of EMCO implementation, extension announced for several villages

KUCHING, Aug 6: The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has announced the second implementation of the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for Kampung Empila in Samarahan, starting tomorrow (Aug 7).

SDMC in a statement today said the two-week long EMCO implementation in Kampung Empila will start on Aug 7 and run until Aug 20.

Apart from that, four other localities in Bintulu, Sri Aman, Kabong and Saratok have also been placed under the EMCO.


The four affected localities are Grace Million workers quarter in Bintulu (Aug 4 until Aug 7), Rh Joseph Enja in Kampung Asal Pantu of Sri Aman (Aug 6 until Aug 19), while for Kampung Perpat in Kabong and Rh Dennis in Sg Klampai of Saratok, the EMCO implementation will run from Aug 7 until Aug 21.

Previously, on June 4, Kampung Empila were enforced with the EMCO implementation for two weeks, until June 17, after sporadic and unlinked Covid-19 cases were detected in the area.

On the same note, SDMC announced the extension of EMCO implemented in three localities in Simunjan.

The affected localities are Kampung Kachong Baru in Gedong (Aug 6 to Aug 13), Kampung Muding (Aug 9 to Aug 13), and in Kompleks 2 of Ladang Sg Mangga’s workers quarters Tersak and Tg Melano (Aug 12 to Aug 20).

As of today, the committee also ended the EMCO implemented in two localities namely Rh Ama in Nanga Keluton Entabai of Pakan and a rented room (above GT Tyre King) in Batu 5 of Bintulu. — DayakDaily
