KUCHING, July 30: All Malaysians including Sarawakians entering the state from Peninsula, Sabah and Labuan will be required to put on the digital tracking wristband upon arrival and allowed to return home from Aug 1.

State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas informed that the returnees will be swabbed for Covid-19 test either on the first day or the second day at the nearest public health clinic.

“For those whose final destination is in the rural area of Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri, they will be quarantined and samples for Covid-19 tests will be taken on second day.

“They will only be allowed to return home if their results returned negative without having to continue with the remaining quarantine period,” he told a press conference on the Covid-19 update here today.

For Sarawakians planning to travel to Peninsula Malaysia, Uggah explained that those from Zone 1 covering Kuching, Samarahan and Serian will only need to obtain permission from police.

“They don’t need to undertake Covid-19 test three days before their journey,” he added.—DayakDaily
