Sarawak sees zero Covid-19 cases today

KUCHING, July 30: Sarawak recorded zero positive cases of Covid-19 today.

The information was revealed by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas during a press conference.


With no new Covid-19 cases emerging in Sarawak, Uggah said the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Sarawak remained at 677.

“There are six patients who recovered and discharged from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) today.

“Four patients are from the Kuching district and two patients are from the Samarahan district.

“With six recoveries, the cumulative number of patients who have recovered as of to date are 571 persons or 84.3 per cent of the total number of positive cases,” he said during a press conference to address the State Covid-19 updates here today.

Uggah who is also Deputy Chief Minister said there were also 87 patients who are still receiving treatment at health facilities.

On another note, he said there were nine new cases of person-under-investigation (PUI) and two PUI cases were awaiting laboratory results.

Apart from that, SDMC said there were 36 persons who registered into hotels as person-under surveillance (PUS) today.

It noted that there are 683 PUS who are undergoing quarantine at 11 hotels throughout Sarawak while 19,255 PUS have completed their 14 days quarantine today. —DayakDaily
