ACCCIS launches 2nd Sarawak Tourism Short Video Contest, now open for submissions

'The Heartbeat of Sarawak' short video contest is now open for submissions.

KUCHING, Nov 4: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS) has announced the commencement of the 2nd Sarawak Tourism Short Video Contest with the theme ‘The Heartbeat of Sarawak’.

In a statement released today, ACCCIS invited video creators, YouTubers, and students across Sarawak to participate in the contest, promoting the local tourism industry through their short videos.

Contestants have the opportunity to win one of five cash prizes, with entries accepted until December 31.


“ACCCIS invites participants to make short videos highlighting Sarawak’s diverse cultures, scenic spots, historical sites and unique experiences, including food, adventures and festivals,” it said.

According to ACCCIS, the contest is also endorsed by Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak as its supporting partner, with the technical support from Kuching Filming and Publishing Association.

ACCCIS organized a similar contest last year, titled ‘Unveil the Land of Hornbill’, which received fascinating entries from local participants.

This year’s contest remains open to all Sarawakians, with entries required to be short videos lasting between three to six minutes.

Participants have the chance to win a total cash prize of RM21,500, with RM10,000 awarded for the first prize, RM6,000 for the second prize, and RM3,000 for the third prize.

Additionally, five consolation prizes of RM500 each will also be awarded.
