Motorcyclist killed in Marudi after being thrown 4 meters from road in apparent self-accident

MIRI, May 2: Tragedy struck at the Marudi junction along the Pan Borneo Highway today when a motorcyclist lost his life in a crash that threw him four meters down the roadside.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) promptly responded to the emergency at 9.04am, dispatching a team from the Lopeng Station to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered an unconscious man lying on the curb of the Pan Borneo Highway, having fallen approximately four meters from the road level.


They lifted the victim to waiting paramedics from the Ministry of Health (MOH) who pronounced him dead on-site.

No identification card was found on the person and his remains have been handed over to the police for further action. — DayakDaily
