KOTA SAMARAHAN, Nov 29: A two-year-old baby girl was rescued by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) after being accidentally locked inside a car at Desa Ilmu Bus Station, Jalan Datuk Muhammad Musa here today.
The 27-year-old mother said she and her baby were on their way home after sending their family members to the Kuching International Airport (KIA) around 6.30am.
They then made a stop at the bus stop to buy the famous RM1 nasi lemak.
“Whenever I take my baby out, I usually roll down the car windows fully and make sure to bring the keys with me.
“However, today, I forgot to roll down the windows and accidentally locked my baby inside the car, with both the keys and my mobile phone left inside, as I was rushing to buy nasi lemak.
“After paying the seller and returning to the car, I found my baby locked inside, happily watching YouTube without a care in the world,” she told DayakDaily today.
She then asked the nasi lemak seller to call the fire department for help, and a few minutes later, they arrived.
In a separate report by the Bomba, they said an emergency call regarding the incident was received at 7.31am, before despatching a team from Kota Samarahan Fire Station led by PBK II Yusmandie Barudie to the scene.
Using specialised equipment, the team successfully unlocked the car door, freeing the baby by 7.46am.
