2 toddlers among 4 injured in Miri car accident

MIRI,Aug 30: Four people, including two young children, one aged 6-months-old and the other 7-years-old, were injured in a traffic collision involving a Perodua Axia and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle near the Jalan Bintang traffic light in Miri on Friday morning.

The accident occurred when the Perodua Axia they were traveling in was struck from behind by the 4WD.

Both vehicles were reportedly heading towards Boulevard from the town area when the collision took place.

The impact caused the Perodua Axia to skid and overturn, landing on its roof.

The toddlers’ mother aged 25 and their 63 year-old grandmother sustained injuries to their bodies as a result of the accident.

The toddlers suffered injuries to their head and face.

Their condition is currently being monitored at the hospital.

The Miri Civil Defence Force (APM) responded swiftly to the incident after receiving an alert at 11.39am.

APM personnel were dispatched to the scene to provide immediate assistance and transport all injured victims to Miri Hospital for further treatment.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collision. — DayakDaily
