KUCHING, April 27: Two blocks of teachers’ quarters at SK Perpat in Kabong, Saratok, were destroyed in a fire today.
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 12.50pm, and firefighters from the Saratok station were deployed.
“The operations commander noted that upon arrival, two blocks of the teachers’ quarters were destroyed by the fire.
“One two-door block didn’t have occupants, while the other two-door block had occupants but was empty when the incident occurred,” said the report.
The report also noted that firefighters faced difficulties in bringing in their equipment due to the narrow road.
Due to that, their equipment had to be transferred to a Hilux to reach the scene of the incident.
No casualties were reported, and the operation ended at 3pm. — DayakDaily
