KUCHING, April 27: An automobile sales and supply shop was completely destroyed in an early morning fire along Jalan Jee Foh, Miri, today.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said they received an emergency call regarding the incident at 2.10am and immediately dispatched a team from the Miri Sentral fire station, with assistance from the Lopeng fire station.
According to the operation commander, the permanent shop structure was entirely engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Firefighters from the Miri Sentral station worked to extinguish the blaze using a hose reel system and one hose line with a single nozzle, while the team from Lopeng fire station utilised a hose reel system and one hose with two nozzles.
The teams brought the fire under control by 3.56am. However, overhaul works are still ongoing as at 10.25am. – DayakDaily
