KUCHING, Oct 29: Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president designate Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin and 12 other supreme council members have been suspended by the party with immediate effect.

The 12 supreme council members are Haniza Mohamad Taha, Dr Daroyah Alwi, Rahimah Majid, Dr Sathiskumar Govindaraju, Muhammad Saiful Bahari Sahari, Na’im Brundage, Abdul Aziz Abdul Kadir, Zakaria Abdul Rahim, Muniraa Abu Bakar, Chua Lian Chye, Roger Tan Seng Huat and Albakri Salim.

This is according to the social media page of Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) president Datuk Larry Sng.

He explained that the action was taken in relation to the ongoing involvement of the expelled 13 in undermining the interest of the party and its leadership.

“I strongly despise and condemn such political manoeuvring which has undermined the trust of my leadership and has caused much confusion to party members and the general public at large.

“As such their positions will be suspended until a disciplinary committee is set up to look into the matter after the election (the 15th General Election),” said Sng.

Apart from the sudden announcement of the suspension of the 12 members in the party’s supreme council and Zuraida who is also caretaker Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, Sng also announced the meeting of a supreme council tomorrow (Oct 30, Sunday) at 4pm at Sarikei, “in view of the urgency of this matter, to discuss and settle the issue immediately”.

He said he is exercising the provision Fasal 21 (li) of the party’s constitution to allow the meeting to be held less than the required seven-day notice.

“Those who have been suspended will not be invited to attend the meeting. Their letters of suspension have been sent to them individually,” said Sng, who is also incumbent Julau MP.  — DayakDaily
