KUCHING, Oct 26: A youth pleaded guilty to two charges of armed gang robbery involving robbing coffee shops with “kwang tao” and samurai blades.

The accused was charged in two different Sessions Courts here today. However, as the accused is still under 21-years-old, the Sessions Court Judges needed to hear the social report for the accused before passing sentence.

Sessions Court Judge Maris Agan released the accused on cash bail of RM7,000 with two local sureties.

Sessions Court Judge Jason Juga released the accused on cash bail of RM10,000 with two local sureties.

Both judges fixed November 25 to hear the social report for the accused.

The accused was charged with committing armed gang robbery with a friend who is still at large, with a “kwang tao” at a coffee shop in Bandar Baru Semariang, at about 4.20am, on October 3, 2022.

They robbed a cashier of RM242.40 in cash.

The accused was also charged with committing armed gang robbery with two friends who are still at large, with a samurai blade, at an eatery at Jalan Batu Kawa, at about 6.30am on October 4.

Both charges were made under Section 395 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 397 of the same Code.
