KUCHING, Oct 25: Popular instant messaging platform WhatsApp has gone down for users around the world.

Many users in Malaysia had found that the app had become unresponsive and were unable to send messages at around 3.30pm (GMT+8).

Global news reports indicate that the platform had also gone down for users worldwide, with outages reported in the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Japan, Germany, Brunei, Dubai, South Africa and Sri Lanka.

The instant messaging platform has not issued any statement regarding the downtime at present, with third-party websites such as DownDetector and Is it Down Right Now? reporting a high number of outage reports.
