HDC issues warning against fake football recruitment messages spread on WhatsApp

The fake message circulating on WhatsApp claiming that HDC is actively seeking young football players.

KUCHING, Jan 10: The Sarawak Housing Development Corporation (HDC) cautions Sarawakians against falling prey to fraudulent messages circulating on social media and communication apps regarding the recruitment of young football players.

In a statement issued today, HDC emphasised that it has not issued any such communication as being circulated on WhatsApp.

“HDC will not issue such statement. The public is strongly advised not to disseminate or share any unverified or false information to prevent confusion,” said HDC.


HDC stated that any official communications will exclusively be disseminated through HDC’s official portal and verified social media accounts.

It categorically disclaimed the deceptive message circulating on WhatsApp, which falsely claims that HDC is actively seeking young football players and promising job opportunities upon selection.

The fake text message further specifies a selection event purportedly scheduled for Jan 10, 2024, at 4.30pm at Padang Perumahan Kpg Tunku. — DayakDaily
