Watch out for ‘black sheep’, Uggah tells GPS election machinery in Betong

KUCHING, Nov 16: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) deputy president Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas has warned the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) election machinery in Betong against the ‘black sheep’ in their fold.

“Watch out for the black sheep in our midst out to sabotage us,” he said, while urging GPS sub-branches to embark on their third and final round of election campaigns before midnight of Nov 18.

Uggah, who is also Deputy Premier of Sarawak, urged those in Betong not to allow differences mar their decisions when casting their votes.

Meanwhile, Uggah said GPS-PBB candidate for P204 Betong Dr Richard Rapu will make a good representative in Parliament because of the latter’s broad experience as the political secretary since 2008.

“In 2016, he (Dr Richard) continues to be a political secretary under me when I returned to serve in Sarawak.

“Qualification-wise, our candidate is just as qualified as he is a trained veterinary doctor from a local university.

“But the thing that makes Dr Richard the best choice is the fact that he is representing the most stable and strong GPS government,” said Uggah in a statement today.

A vote for Dr Richard in Betong is a vote for GPS and a vote to restore more of Sarawak’s eroded rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), he added. — DayakDaily
