KUCHING, Aug 27: Apart from Santubong MP Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, the rest of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) MPs continue to sit in new Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob’s Cabinet with the same posts.
Wan Junaidi has been appointed as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Parliament and Law, contrary to the former Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative office he held during former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s administration.
Petra Jaya MP Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has been retained as Works Minister, while Kapit MP Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi is the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister and Datuk Sri Nancy Shukri is the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister.
The new Cabinet was announced by Ismail Sabri in a live telecast at 11am today.
Six other Sarawakian MPs who were appointed as deputy ministers continue to maintain their old posts.
Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Taib is reappointed as Deputy Minister in Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Sabah and Sarawak Affairs, while Lawas MP Dato Henry Sum Agong maintains his position as Transport Deputy Minister and Datuk Willie Mongin as Plantation Industries and Commodities Deputy Minister.
Saratok MP Datuk Ali Biju is reappointed as Deputy Minister in Energy and Natural Resources Ministry, while Kanowit MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang is the Deputy Health Minister and Limbang MP Datuk Hasbi Habibollah retains his position as Rural Development Deputy Minister. — DayakDaily
