KUCHING, Dec 9: A special hardship relief fund of up to RM3,000 in cash will be distributed to all voters participating in the 12th State Election.

Its president Voon Lee Shan said this will be one of nine missions Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) has outlined if it were to capture the Sarawak government this election.

Other missions include deposit subsidies for first-time home buyers, purchase subsidies for first motor vehicles, pocket money and medical grants for the poor, free tertiary education, agricultural land allocations for small and medium entreprise (SME) farmers, water, electricity and internet services to all homes, and no homeless Sarawakians.

Another part of the ‘PBK passport to prosperity, freedom and independence’ manifesto is the party’s vision to set Sarawak free and independent from the federation of Malaysia and to restore Sarawak as an independent nation by peaceful means.

“Strategies to achieve this include seeking a peaceful exit from the federation of Malaysia like what was done by Singapore, leading to a Unilateral Declaration of Independence (UDI) by the PBK government.

“(Another way is) by seeking a court declaration that Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) was invalid and that Malaysia should integrate or Sarawak should leave the federation,” he said.

Meanwhile, Voon said PBK also drafted 16 mission statements if Sarawak were to successfully gain independence from the federation of Malaysia under PBK.

Some highlights were that PBK would distribute a minimum of 30 per cent annually of revenue from crude oil to all Sarawakian voters, to provide funds for surveying native customary right (NCR) lands for documentations, titles and for processing land titles of mixed zones land to extend leases to a minimum of 99 years.

“(We will also implement policies) to directly import vehicles without having to pay exorbitant taxes, document and provide all stateless Sarawakians with birth certificates, identity cards and passports,” he said during a press conference at Voon & Co Advocates at Jalan Stutong here today.

Those present with Voon were PBK vice-president Awang Badele Awang Ali, PBK Southern Zone political affairs director Raymond Thong and Voon’s assistant Steven Loh.

In the Sarawak polls, Voon is contesting under PBK ticket in Batu Lintang, while Awang Badele Awang Ali is standing in Satok and Thong in Padungan. — DayakDaily
